Italian Escapes Rome & Dolce Vita - Low Season 6 Days / 5 Nights

Day 1:

Welcome to Rome!
Independent arrival in hotel. Overnight stay in Rome.

Day 2:

After a rich breakfast at the hotel, you will meet your driver to head to the Vatican area, where you’ll meet your professional guide and take a tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Square. Admire the Gallery of Tapestries, the Geographical Maps, and Raphael’s rooms before arriving at the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s masterpiece. The tour ends with a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica (outside). Time at your leisure to discover hidden corners of Rome.  
At 5:15 PM meet your local foodie guide at Via dei Baullari, 106 (reach the meeting point on your own) and enjoy a lovely walking tour through local food markets, grocery stores, and gelato shops in the areas of Campo De’ Fiori, Trastevere, and the Jewish Ghetto. You’ll enjoy a slice of freshly baked crispy “Pizza Bianca” filled with thin slices of freshly cut “mortadella”, and try a “Supplì”, a deep-fried tomato sauce risotto ball with mozzarella cheese. 
Pasta will also be on the list, along with traditional Roman Jewish dishes like carciofo alla giudia (deep-fried artichoke) or fried zucchini flowers (depending on seasonality). Save space for dessert with artisan “Gelato”! . 
Overnight stay. 

Day 3:

If you dream of experiencing some of Italy’s most breathtaking coastal towns, join us on this unforgettable journey to Sorrento Coast. 
Pack your bags and wear comfortable shoes — at 6:30 approx. we’ll pick you up directly from your hotel and take you to the bus departure point. 
Departing from Rome at 7:30 AM, enjoy a comfortable drive through the Italian countryside with a short stop along the way before continuing south towards the ancient city of Pompeii, set at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Upon arrival, explore this remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site with an expert licensed guide on a comprehensive archaeological tour. Enjoy an in-depth 2.5-hour exploration of the site, designed to let you fully immerse yourself in the history and daily life of ancient Rome.  Walk along the original streets, discover remarkably preserved houses, bakeries and temples, and admire frescoes and mosaics that have survived for centuries. Learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD buried the city under ash, preserving it for over a millennium and offering us today an unparalleled glimpse into the past. 
After the visit, transfer to Sorrento, where you can continue your journey surrounded by stunning coastal views and Mediterranean charm. 
In the evening, savor a delicious dinner at the hotel (smart-casual attire recommended), followed by an overnight stay in Sorrento. 

* On first or last Fridays departure of each month, the visit to Pompeii will take place on the morning of the fifth day, before returning to Rome.

Day 4:

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, free time at your disposal for shopping or activities. If you want, you may opt for an Amalfi Coast excursion (not included). Dinner and overnight in hotel. 

Day 5:

After breakfast, you'll have some free time to soak in Sorrento's charm one last time. Around 01:30 PM (departure time to be reconfirmed by Carrani Tours staff), transfer to Pompeii for the return journey to Rome by bus. You will return to Rome in the late afternoon, around 18:00, with plenty of time to further enjoy the beauty of the Eternal City. Overnight in Rome. 

Day 6:

Breakfast at the hotel. End of service
